Palliative Care (end of life care)
Physical Therapy:
Physical therapy programming includes strengthening and retraining to allow individuals to gain more independence with transfers, walking, use of prosthetics and mobility. The first step of the process is an evaluation of the individuals needs. Physical therapy can help reduce an individuals risk of falls and increase safety upon discharge. Rehabilitation services for short-term residents or long-term care individuals at Sena Kean Manor are provided by PeopleFirst Rehabilitation.
Occupational Therapy:
Occupational therapy focuses on an individuals short-term or long-term care training to promote independence with managing activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing and eating after a complete evaluation. PeopleFirst Rehabilitation provides these services at Sena Kean Manor.
Speech Therapy:
Evaluation of an individuals understanding and use of language, speech production, voice and swallowing ability is completed by a PeopleFirst Rehabilitation Speech Therapist. Individualized programs in conjunction with the facility interdisciplinary team can make a difference in the health and well-being of a short-term or long-term care resident.
Skilled Nursing Care:
Whether an individual is coming to our facility for short-term care after an illness, injury or surgery, or will make this their home, this level of care requires daily involvement of skilled nursing or rehabilitation staff. Examples of skilled nursing facility care include IV therapy, tube feeding, multiple injections (antibiotics, pain control), wound care, oxygen therapy, diabetes management, terminal care, bosomy and urological care, individual and family education (new medications, nutritional education related to medical conditions and or a new onset of diabetes, COPD or other long-term illness).
